Biography
Uniquely gifted as an instrumentalist, Ann Marie has been making music all her life. She can play and has taught all the instruments and continues to share her love of music with people of all ages. "Music speaks louder than words."
She has a rare understanding of and sensitivity to people, with degrees in Psychology, Music Education, and Music Composition, and has written songs that touch others at their deepest level: tears at a wedding, love when singing a lullaby to a newborn baby, laughter at a retirement, and pride in being part of a community celebration. Her music brings back these special feelings years after the moment itself. Currently she is promoting a compilation of some of her piano solos, Let's Play! 12 Piano Solos for All Occasions. It is a varied set—some are energetic, others meditative—and fall within the abilities of intermediate pianists. She was recently commissioned to write the Centennial song for the city of Arroyo Grande, CA. Arroyo Grande: The Place to Be was enjoyed during the city's year-long celebration. She has released three albums, her latest being Refreshing Rain. It has fifteen original compositions with each piece offering a peaceful, soothing, and meditative experience. Her other albums are Maui No Ka Oi, piano and vocal works inspired by living on Maui, and Sweet Souvenirs, an eclectic mix of instrumental and vocal styles. Ann Marie is a member of ASCAP and lives in the Central Coast of California where she and her husband, Richard, enjoy weekly Boogie Boarding in the cool Pacific and spending as much time as possible with her "other loves": her grandsons.
